Ganesha: adorable form of divine power and lord of success

Know about Vighnharta Ganesha 
This is our first blog of socialabout.com tribute in devotion of success of god lord Ganesha. The Ganesha – elephant headed, riding a mouse an adorable pervasive form of Hinduism. He is known as Vighnaharta (god to remove obstacles) and first venerable with reverence by millions of people. Worship of Lord Ganesha is considered imperative before any auspicious occasion or task.
The son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha is the epitome of good luck, dispeller of problems, wealth, health, intellect, prosperity and happiness. According to Hindu religion five prime deities are considered Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Durga and a fifth one is Ganesha. Idolatry of these deities is glorified as panchayatna Puja.

 

Significance of adorable form of Ganesha

Head of Ganesha is symbolic of Atman (soul) i.e. Eternal form of God. The soul of human being is immortal even after death of a person. It adds body dies, but the soul remains Alive. Real supreme existence of a human on this earth is soul i.e. Essence of human life. Elephant head of Ganesha is dedicated to wisdom and trunk of him is contains a power of OM, a pious peaceful cosmic sound.

In the upper right hand he holds a goad that helps human kind to propel on the eternal path and to remove all obstacles of life. In his right hand he holds noose, a soothing implementation to capture all the difficulties. Broken tusk, which he broke to write the Mahabharata in his lower right hand holds like a pen is a symbol of sacrifice and rosary in his lower left hand is an indication towards the continuous pursuit of knowledge. The Laddoo (desired sweet of Ganesha) on his trunk shows that be humble and sweet to everyone and his fan like ears depict that he always here to ears our petitions. A snake that runs around his waist shows the huge form of energy in various forms.

Story behind the birth of Ganesha

Once on MT. Kailash goddess Parvati was preparing for a bath so to guard the door, she said Nandi, the faithful bull of her husband Shiva. Willingly Nandi took his post to carry out Parvati’s wish. When lord Shiva came to home then he said Nandi to leave the door and Nandi had to let him pass, being first loyal for his lord shiva. Seeing all this Parvati created a boy from her body’s dirt and declared him Ganesha, loyal son of her own.

Next time Parvati posted Ganesha to guard the door and during this time Shiva came and tried to enter but Ganesha stopped him. Shiva ordered his army to destroy the boy, but Ganesha is so powerful and in front of them no one could stand. Shiva understood that he is not an ordinary boy so usually calm Shiva had to fight with him and in this divine fury severed the Ganesha’s head and killed him instantly. Seeing all that Parvati enraged and furious and decided to destroy the whole universe. Then Lord Brahma pleaded Parvati to become calm. Then Shiva assured Parvati to bring back the life of genasha and  ordered Brahma to bring the head of the first creature whom he sees and is lying with its head facing north. After some time Brahma returned with the head of mammoth elephant and Shiva placed that head onto Ganesha’s torso. Shiva blessed Ganesha by being foremost among the gods and leader of Ganas. He declared before any auspicious work, worship of Ganesha would be crucial and Ganesha: adorable form of divine power and lord of success.

Destroyer of Evils

Lord Ganesha is known for the destroyer of vanity, pride and selfishness. Millions of people even apart from Hindu religion worship Ganesha regardless sectarian belief. Ganesha’s potbelly is a container and the Savior of the universe.
